Description

The body was rebuilt on a new frame and repainted, and many mechanical upgrades were added to make the truck more reliable and easier to drive. A 4-speed manual transmission from New Process was installed, and other improvements include Toyota e-locker differentials, 30-spline axles, and power steering. This truck was previously offered on BaT and is currently located in Connecticut. It is registered in New York and sold on a bill of sale. Some of the original body pieces were restored, and new panels were used as needed to rebuild the body. They were installed on a new galvanized frame along with a rebuilt rear tub with galvanized cross-members and floors. Footwells and door posts were sandblasted, and five new doors were sourced. Desert Sand paint and rust prevention coatings were then applied. The metal fender caps, radiator support, and front windshield frame have been galvanized, and the door hinges were rebuilt with stainless steel hardware and bushings after being sandblasted and re-coated with zinc. The roof was modified with a sunroof, and new window tracks and a headliner were installed. A full-length roof rack by Brownchurch is equipped with a Camping Lab pullout awning. All four headlights are Hella H4s, and galvanized bumpers and Goss rock sliders were installed. The 16â?³ steel wheels were repainted and wear Cooper Discoverer tires. The interior features a custom dash plate with the original Jaeger speedometer, Pro-Comp Ultra-Lite gauges, and rubber switchgear knobs. Wooden shift knobs were also added, and a Mark Love console box houses a Cobra CB and a Icom IC-V8000 75w 2m ham radio. A pair of fire extinguishers were mounted inside the rear roof sides. The truck was fitted with power steering that consists of a Toyota FJ60 power box, Borgeson steering shafts, and Seriestrek tie-rods. The odometer was reset during the restoration, and currently shows 5k miles with true mileage unknown. Under the driverâ??s seat lies the the truckâ??s battery, relays, and fuses. The wiring was completely redone while the 109 was being assembled, and the main connections were soldered and shrink-wrapped. A 3. 0 liter OM617 turbodiesel engine has replaced the stock unit, and is paired to a New Process 435 4-speed manual transmission. Toyota electric locking differentials with a 4. 88 gear ratio have been installed and are paired to Seriestrek 30-spline axles. Documents and photos from the restoration process detail the work that was performed, and the Canadian importation papers from 1999 are included in the sale.
