1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass

Probably one of a kind Cutlass Supreme. Complete rotisserie restoration purchased with 500 miles basically off the showroom floor at the Detroit Autorama.Initially came with a rebuilt 455cui , 12 bolt post rear with 3.73 gears. Turbo 350 auto transmission.Wildwood disc breaks front and rear.Body mods include ram air hood , rear wing, sport mirrors, 2" drop.Exhaust 21/2 " SS, with X-pipe and polished stainless headers.Interior is Legendary Auto Interior kit complete with new carpet ,headliner door panels etc.All glass and stainless are newExterior paint is flawless Platinum Mist metallic with white accent stripes and white roof.Now the fun part !After driving the car for part of one summer I realized it was more show than go. I had it professionally inspected for engine and transmision leaks as well as rough drivability. Rather than messing with an unknown engine issue I decided to make some changes.We installed a GM crate LS3 ,6.2L ,430 hp motor, mated to a 4 speed auto transmission, all new wiring harness, digital gauges and dual electric fan radiator. The drivability was improved by adjusting the ride hight with the proper suspension. We then gave it a better cruising rear gear of 3.08 since the 3.73 reved much too high with the old 3rd gear.To date, the most recent improvements have made this a great cruiser with plenty of horsepower and a nice rumble without being obnoxious.
