The car is reported to have remained in Acapulco, Mexico from new until 1982, when it was imported to the US by an American expat. Power is currently supplied by a 1720cc flat-four from a 912, which was built by Tom Bruch in 2001 and is paired with a 4-speed 519 gearbox rebuilt by Vic Skirmants. A glass-out repaint was performed in 2015, and approximately $17k in service has been conducted over the past three years, much of which was dedicated to getting the car ready for auction within the past few months. The car was then driven regularly throughout the 1990s and into the 2000s.
