Description
This 1969 Porsche 911T Coupe was sold new in Hermosa Beach, California at Vasek Polakâ??s Porsche dealership on the Pacific Coast Highway. A repaint in dark metallic grey was then completed, and in 1984 he replaced the stock motor with a 3. 2L twin-plug unit built by Dick Elverud. A 915 5-speed manual gearbox with a short shifter was installed at the same time, and a recent dyno test showed 256 hp at the rear wheels. The selling dealer acquired the car last year and commissioned a 1974 RSR 3. 0 tribute build. The steel 930 flares were installed in 1980, and the car was repainted in dark metallic grey. Both front and rear flares are Porsche OEM parts. While at the body shop, the decision was made to finish the car as a 1974 RSR 3. 0 tribute. Bumpers and rear decklid with spoiler were sourced from TRE in California, painted to match the exterior color, and the entire body was color sanded and polished. The most notable flaw is a touched-up chip on the right rear flare. New side mirrors were added, and orange Carrera RSR graphics were applied. 17â?³ Euromiester Fuchs-style wheels wear Goodyear Eagle F1 tires and measure 8â? wide in front and 9â? in the rear. The existing aftermarket stereo system was removed and a radio delete panel was fitted in the dash. The odometer shows 33,967 miles and is believed to have rolled over once. The 3. 2L flat-six was built using a new 3. 0L case by Monte Sheltonâ??s race tuner Dick Elverud. It was installed in 1984 and features twin-plug heads, electronic ignition, a lightweight flywheel, rare 46mm Weber carbs, and a front oil cooler. A 915 5-speed gearbox with factory short shifter kit was also added at the same time. A straight through dual-outlet muffler with custom stainless intermediate pipes was added, the oil lines were addressed, and a new sound pad was installed. The engine also received a full service with replacement of all fluids. The suspension was upgraded with new Koni adjustable struts up front, while Bilstein sport shocks have been installed in the rear. Elephant Racing hard rubber bushings were also added along with adjustable camber plates and upgraded torsion and sway bars. Braking is handled by Wilwood Superlight II calipers and vented rotors in the front. A dyno test conducted on August 9, 2017 showed 256 hp at the rear wheels. The dual plug ignition interfered with the tach pick-up for the dyno and an accurate torque reading could not be recorded. A video showing the car driving and going through gears has been provided.
