Description
This Light Ivory over dark brown 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL was sold new by British Motor Cars of Spokane to a Mr. Jackey, who owned it until 1991. All work was completed in August 2017, and this W113 is now being offered with a Pagoda hardtop, its original purchase and sale documentation, Data Card, factory books and supplements, a partially-stamped service booklet, receipts for the refurbishment, and a clean New York title. Checking is present in some areas of the finish, and all factory panels are reportedly accounted for. A Pagoda hardtop is included with the sale as pictured above, and the soft top is detailed in the photo gallery. In August 2017, four new shocks were installed. Factory wheels wear painted hub caps and thin whitewall tires. Exterior flaws are listed as a ding in the trunk lid, another one on the hood, and a burn mark on one of the rear bumperettes. A new exhaust system was fitted during the refresh. The odometer shows 30,031 miles and is believed to have rolled over once according to included documentation. The numbers-matching 2. 8-liter inline-six received a full rebuild during the 2017 refurbishment. The original 4-speed automatic transmission was also serviced, and the mechanical fuel-injection system was refurbished. Additionally, a new starter and master cylinder were installed. Receipts back to 2015 will be included along with documentation for the recent $20k+ in work. Additional undercarriage pictures can be seen in the photo gallery. The factory Data Card is shown above and displays the engine, transmission, drivetrain, and chassis numbers. The original service booklet is partially-stamped and dates back to when the car had its pre-delivery inspection in 1968. Filed under: pagoda, sl, w113
