Description
1967 Ford Mustang 390 S-Code Coupe How to make a Mustang GT First, pick your V-8. Any of four big choices from the 289-cid Challenger to a new 390-cid Thunderbird Special, the fearsome S-Code engine such as seen in this car - ranging in power from 200-hp to the 320-hp of the S-Code. Then add the GT Equipment Group, and wonderful things happen. Up front, a pair of four-inch foglamps are built into the grille, giving the Mustang GT the appearance of an expensive rally-type machine. Tires put more tread on the road for greater traction, look extra-low and sporty. Front power disc brakes take over to give you extra resistance against fade. The GT Equipment Group also includes the Special Handling Package: higher rate springs and shocks, beefier front stabilizer bar. The Mustang GT exhaust system, with both the high-performance Cobra and Thunderbird Special V-8, is a special low-restriction type, with dual mufflers and chromed "quad" outlets. Final touch: accent stripes with "GT" (for stick shift) or "GTA" (for SelectShift Crusie-O-Matic.), again, as with this machine. Accompanied by a Marti Report, this green with black interior GTA Hardtop is handsomely equipped with its window sticker, air conditioning; power steering and brakes, plus bucket seats, radio, BFGoodrich tires and all of the motoring excitement you can handle.
