Restored 1970 Jaguar XKE Roadster Series II

This 1970 Jaguar XKE Roadster was reportedly purchased new in Germany by an American serviceman at Peter Lindnerâ??s dealership. 2-liter block was installed by a Jaguar dealership. Over $18k has recently been spent completing the restoration, correctly sorting the vehicle, and returning it to largely factory spec throughout, including a new top, redone interior, and extensive mechanical servicing. Additionally, the inside of the rockers were coated with POR 15 rustproofing. The car was then repainted in its factory Opalescent Silver Blue using PPG paint and clearcoat. The rear side marker lights have been left off but are included with the sale. Additionally, all chrome exterior trim including the bumpers were redone. As part of the recent mechanical work, the brakes and their associated components were replaced, including the hydraulics and lines. The wire wheels are described as newer replacements that were fitted with four new Vredstein tires this month. The lower part of the center bonnet latch and the passenger-side arm rest are on backorder but will be included with the sale when shipped. The dark blue cabin is factory-correct per the Heritage Trust certificate. New seat belts and sound/heat insulation have also been fitted along with a new trunk board kit and trunk upholstery. New visors with new hardware are not yet installed but will be included with the car. The original steering wheel was refinished and new wiper assemblies/arms/blades were installed. A new Series I rear-view mirror was fitted in place of the original Series II stick-on item. Recent mechanical servicing consists of a new fuel tank and related components, a new fuel pump, all-new fuel lines, a radiator re-core with new hoses and fan switches, a $2,600 rebuild of the carburetors with a five-page repair report included, and a new clutch including the hydraulics and lines. A compression test performed last month reportedly revealed that all cylinders were in the 158-160 psi range. A cold-start video is shown above.
